Kate's strengths are strategic planning and coming up with innovative solutions to marketing problems that actually work.


Kate has extensive experience of sales and strategic marketing in the private and FE sectors. In a previous role, as Head of Marketing for a FTSE 250 B2B training company, she had responsibility for a 7-figure marketing budget. In her first FE marketing role, she completely transformed the College's marketing
with resources which were just a fraction of this size. Just 18 months after joining the FE sector, she was given the accolade of 'FE Marketing Professional of the Year'.


Kate has broad experience and skills in all aspects of the marketing communications mix and an innovative approach to the challenges that FE marketers face.

 

Kate adds bundles of infectious enthusiasm to everything she does.

 

Charlotte MyerCharlotte
Wow! Wordsmith (aka the Client Marketing Manager)


Charlotte is a former PR Account Director at a central London agency.

 

Charlotte has worked in FMCG and B2B PR for twenty years, working with big brands like Kimberley Clark, Boots, BBC Worldwide, Superdrug and AT&T.  She brings a wealth of experience in building brands, raising the profile of individuals within these companies and increasing sales as a result. 

 

She’s now securing lots of lovely local, regional and national press for our FE clients. Recently she's been landing front page stories and full page/multi-page features for our FE clients - go Charlotte!

 

 

Alaine O'BrienAlaine

PR Specialist (aka the PR Account Manager)

 

Alaine has worked in PR for 17 years, with the last nine mainly focusing within the skills/education arena. 

 

Alaine has worked for several skills organisations including UK Skills and Universities UK. For UK Skills (now the National Apprenticeship Service), she promoted Team UK, a group of under 24s competing at the skills version of the Olympics, WorldSkills.  Coverage was achieved in national titles such as The Sun, Times and Guardian Education, specialist titles including TES and FE Week and in many regional titles across the UK.  She even placed a student chef on Ready, Steady, Cook!

 

What Alaine enjoys about PR is working with clients to create great campaigns and achieving goals and, ultimately, exceeding their expectations. 

 

 

Justin Shaw Justin
Education PR Guru (aka the PR and Research Director)

 

Justin is an award-winning public relations expert and former journalist. His company specialises in education and skills. Justin has worked with more than 100 education institutions providing reputation, communications and public relations counsel over the past 20 years.

 

Justin is passionate about the education sector and is a foremost commentator and speaker on issues affecting the market.

 

 

 

Chris MartinChris
Web Wizard (aka the Technology Director)

 

Chris is web technology whizz. He builds easy-to-use, great-looking and accessible websites. He won a Gold Award for the first FE college website he built, so it's fair to say he's rather good at this kind of thing.

 

Chris is clever at all things web-related; he has even built website software especially for colleges.
